Zach Williams was inspired when he co-wrote the song “Chainbreaker,” released as a single and later on its self-titled album. He did this with collaborators Jonathan Smith and Australian music artist Mia Fieldes.
Williams told fans that he wanted to “reach people who had been struggling” and that it “speaks to believers as much as it does to non-believers because we all get to places in our lives where we get lukewarm, and we just kind of forget what God’s done in our life. The song is very much the truths of who Jesus is.”
“For me, that story was a big part of my personal testimony as I went to write this song with Mia Fields and Jonathan Smith. As we were sharing with each other, the next thing I knew Mia said we should write a song called ‘Chain Breaker.’ I laughed and said, ‘That’s been done already, hasn’t it?’ She said no, we needed to write this song. We went on writing this song about Jesus, packing in as many positives and truths about who Jesus is and what He has done as possible,” he said according to SongFacts.
It is an incredible message about Jesus Christ. It tells about how Jesus loves us so much. It talks about being lost, but God always brings us home. When we are in bondage, Jesus sets us free. It is truly incredible. The music video just shows the lyrics, but hey, the song is so inspiring, that you will not care as the song carries through a mountain of inspiration.
