Based on the popular kids’ book series from author Connor Boyack, Angel Studios brings us Tuttle Twins. The two seasons follow a pair of siblings who go on time-traveling adventures where they learn all kinds of important values.
Ethan (Jonny Vance) and Emily Tuttle (Blake Brust) might be twins, but they could not be more different. He dreams of being a rockstar and craves adventure. She loves science and wants to explore. After an incident with a lemonade stand, their Grandma (William Lucas) and her pet raccoon, Derek (Alex Elkin), decide to teach the kids a lesson. Ethan and Emily are shocked to discover that their Grandma has turned her wheelchair into a time machine. The stubborn elder takes her grandkids on adventures through time and space where they meet historical figures, explore landscapes, and learn about good values from those who have gone before.
While other shows are trying to brainwash kids into telling them what to think, this series takes a different approach by telling them how to think. With their emphasis on family, creativity, wholesome values, and focus on adventure, you can put this on for your kids without worrying about what might appear on the TV screen.
Some of the topics might be too heavy for younger kids, but the show does its best so that kids of all ages can learn and have fun while doing it. The animation is well done and the lively colorization makes it quite the spectacle for the eyes. I also really enjoyed the music, which does a good job of matching the tone of the episodes.
As for the voice acting, everyone does a good job. I do not have any real complaints about that.
It is nice to see a television show that parents can be confident that their kids will not see something reprehensible on the screen. Your kids can have a good time while also learning about the world they live in.
