Ranking The Sonic The Hedgehog TV Theme Songs

"Faster than the human the eye!"

The SEGA video game hero Sonic the Hedgehog has blown past the gaming consoles and into the pop culture realm on two continents. His adventures have been expanded into film, but before that, television. Those of us who watched Saturday morning cartoons have heard some pretty fun theme songs for this speedster.

Here is how I would rank those theme songs:

07. Boom

Sonic and his friends fight Dr. Eggman with some CGI adventures that introduce the new character Sticks the Badger.

06. Prime

Sonic accidentally shatters a crystal that creates other dimensions. It is up to him and Shadown to set it right. This theme is short and sweet.

05. X

This anime brought Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and the rest of the game into a new world where they adapted Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 for episodes.

04. Underground

Jaleel White does not just voice Sonic, but also his siblings, Sonia and Manic, who are fighting to retake their kingdom from Dr. Robotnik.

03. Anime

This two-part OVA departs heavily from the comic books, but shows Sonic fighting his evil robotic clone Hyper Metal Sonic.

02. Adventures

Joined by Tails, Sonic fights Robotnik and his Super Secret Sonic Search & Smash Squad, a duo of clumsy robots.

01. SatAM

If you grew up in the 90s, this is how you remembered Sonic and his fellow Freedom Fighters as they battled Dr. Robotnik’s armies of “SWAT bots.”

By the way, I am in no way saying those I ranked lower are bad. This is just how I am ranking them as a longtime fan of Sonic media.
