Gordon Ramsay brings us a new cooking show through his production company titled Kitchen Commando. It is hosted by veteran and former White House chef Andre Rush. It was streamed to the Tubi app.
Chef Rush sets out to help several restaurants as they struggle to re-open following the lockdown. Using his unique style, he helps them clean the kitchen, enhance the menu, train the staff, and update the decor in every place he goes. Whether it be a vegan restaurant or a burger joint, he helps the owners, cooks, and staff rebuild the eatery with his own unique style.
I do not normally review reality television shows, much less a cooking show, but this Tubi exclusive caught my attention. Gordon Ramsay produces but does not host this show, and that is okay because Chef Rush rocks the apron.
For those unfamiliar with Chef Rush, after his honorable discharge from the military, he served in the White House under Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump. Rush is no rookie, and he knows what he is doing.
It does not matter who owns the restaurant or who is doing the cooking, Rush delivers no-nonsense advice and presents his very practical approach to rebuilding the eateries. Sometimes, the owners and staff listen to him and persevere, other times, they need more convincing, but Rush does not let them play the victim. He pushes them and helps them turn the restaurant around.
When you watch these shows, the host often presents ideas that are clearly more expensive, and it is questionable whether the establishment can survive the changes. Rush, on the other hand, offers practical solutions that are within the restaurant’s budget and pays for the redecoration himself. It gives a layer of authenticity to what he is doing.
If you are a Tubi subscriber or if you are new to the free ad-supported streaming service, add this show to your playlist. I think you will enjoy it, and the host Chef Andre Rush, as he helps these restaurants rebuild.
