Former White House Press Secretary and current Fox News anchor Dana Perino brings us her latest book, I Wish Someone Had Told Me . . .: The Best Advice for Building a Great Career and a Meaningful Life. It is a non-fiction motivational book that you will not want to miss.
According to the synopsis,
“This illuminating and essential book is ideal for new graduates and everyone starting their first job; professionals thinking about making a change, transitioning into a different position, or phasing into a new career or act in life; and anyone looking for timeless insight and a helpful resource for self-improvement and career enhancement.”
Having read Perino’s previous works, I went into this with high expectations and was not disappointed. She is an acquaintance of mine and one that I am glad to have in my life. She is sincere, genuine, and courteous, all of which comes through in the book.
Using examples from her own life, she lays out a roadmap for people who are making decisions, whether they be a novice in the workplace or a veteran looking for a change. Her advice is sound and relatable.
It is not just her advice. She also interviews colleagues from Fox News, including Bill Hemmer, Greg Gutfield, Jesse Watters, Salena Zito, and Tyrus. She also talks with other celebrities like Mike Rowe and her own husband, Peter McMahon. They give practical advice on life, and you never once feel pandered to or hustled.
Essentially, Dana Perino does what she does best. She advises anyone who picks up the book, and her advice you can take to heart.
