Chad Prather: “Watered Down” (ft. John Rich) Music Review
This song was released in 2024.
Comedian and singer Chad Prather teams up with the very talented Chris Wallin to pen the lyrics for the single “Watered Down.” The song features John Rich and was released by Baste Records.
This is a song about the culture in America being drowned in political correctness. The lyrics describe how American society is facing erosion, not just from without, but from within. It lays out the problems and sings about being united and fighting while avoiding being preachy. You can tell that Prather truly has a heart for his country and his countrymen, expressing it in this musical manner.
The song also sounds good. It has an excellent jam to it, and your foot gets to tapping as soon as it starts playing. I also think Prather and Rich work very well together. Their voices blend solidly, showcasing their talent not just as country music artists but as singers more specifically.
I would be remiss if I did not talk about the music video. It had a relaxed feeling about it as we watched Prather sing on a small stage juxtaposed with images of everyday Americans going about their day. It blended perfectly with the song and showcased Americana in the best way possible.
If you are not a fan of country music, I get it, but we have been begging for an alternative to the mainstream. Record labels like Baste and singers like Prather and Rich are providing that sort of excellent content. Let us stand together. Download the number for your playlist and sing right along with it.
