'Catwoman: Selina’s Big Score' Comic Book Review

Selina is a little far from Gotham.

Legendary comic book artist and writer Darwyn Cooke takes a stab at one of Gotham’s most dangerous rogues in the DC Comics story-arc Catwoman: Selina’s Big Score.

After a job goes wrong in Morocco, Selina Kyle decides to return to Gotham City where she hears about how the Falcone Crime Family is about to transport some cash on a train that runs through Canada. She partners with jaded thief Stark, who once worked with Selina until she betrayed him. They put their differences aside to plot how they will rob the train, but a private investigator named Slam Bradley gets wind of the situation and plans to stop Selina.

I love Darwyn Cooke’s art style. To the naked eye, it might come off as incredibly simplistic, but in fact, I love the attention to detail he pays with the illustrations. He draws Selina Kyle in an alluring way and it works very well. The other characters are drawn expertly and that includes Batman’s cameo.

As for the story, I found it incredibly entertaining. This shows Selina Kyle apart from her identity as Catwoman and focuses on her career as a professional thief. We see her apart from her relationship with Batman and I thought that was very interesting. I found it incredibly interesting and was hooked to the story.
