5 TV Shows That Were Canceled Too Soon
These are presented in no particular order.
Television shows can have a long and storied run, or they can be canceled faster than audiences expected. Sometimes, it is because of network interference, a change of leadership, a writer’s strike, or just bad luck.
Whatever the case, fans have mourned the loss of these shows.
Here are five TV shows that were canceled too soon:
AWAKE
Jason Isaacs starred in this 2012 thriller about an LA cop who goes to sleep after a car accident. In one world, his wife lived and in another his only son. Sadly, it suffered from poor ratings. Fortunately, the showrunners cobbled together a finale that closed up the loose ends of the series.
FIRELY
This 2002 sci-fi show starred Nathan Fillion as the captain of the Serenity, a group of smugglers who fought on the losing side of a war. It ended when viewers were confused over the skipped pilot. A film would be made that reunited its cast, including Morena Baccarin.
KINGS
A retelling of the Biblical story of David, the show was disrupted by a network regime change that placed it in a poor timeslot. This resulted in dwindling viewership that led to it ending in a cliffhanger in 2009.
MY NAME IS EARL
Despite having a successful four seasons, the studio and the network bickered over a budget. As a result, the sitcom, starring Jason Lee as Earl, a man trying to make up for his past, ended in 2009 with a total cliffhanger.
STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE
Ending in 2005, this series served as a prequel to the Original Series. Scott Bakula portrayed Captain Archer, commander of the NX-01 Enterprise, sent into the Alpha Quadrant to explore and make first contact.

Agree on Enterprise. The Vulcan girl was great.
